Weathering the Storm

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Curled within a woven womb
of rich ebony ravens wings
I lay, receiving sustenance, nourishment
from the slithering umbilical cord.

Embraced
by the feathers of faithful
protectors
I lie
safe,
secure,
as
the
storm rages
all about me

This is exquisite, absolutely perfect. The words are full circle, I think, and everything is good. Very beautiful art, and very special:-)

Your words, Heather, are beautiful. And the image, well that says it all. It is your creation, one that comes from your heart. What a healthy way to deal with your currently elevated stress level. Poets and artists, they say, do their best work under tragic circumstances.

just perfect, I agree. There is a very strong sense of the protectiveness of the ravens' wings around the child
